Late in the afternoon, after a huge fight with longtime rival Mortimer Mouse, Mickey Mouse cried alone in the park while sitting on a bench. As his mother Flora saw him, she knew Mickey was upset. She went up to Mickey and said, "Mickey, you look upset. What's the matter? Why are you crying?"

Mickey looked at Flora with angry tears in his eyes and said, "Mom, I never thought you would ask. Mortimer Mouse is so mean! He made me mad for no reason! He tried to steal Minnie away from me, the police didn't believe me and he picked on me all the time! He accused me of things I never did and he also called me names! I'd rather run than play with Mortimer!" Mickey yelled. He banged his fists on the bench in anger. As for his sister Amelia, she also knew that Mickey was upset.

She hugged Mickey and told him, "There, there, Mickey. It's not your fault." "It's not?" He asked sobbingly. "No, of course not. It was Mortimer. He hurt your feelings and he tried to steal Minnie you." said as she consoled him tenderly. "Amelia, If you and Mom were both here for me and to protect me from Mortimer, you would confront him in a serious way. I would've had one other to defend me from him, but I didn't!" Mickey sobbed and started to cry loudly. Flora and Amelia hugged Mickey lovingly.

However, Mortimer Mouse was very angry when he saw Mickey with his mother and sister. He did not realize he made him cry and tried to separate Minnie from him. He scuttled off as Mickey glared at him through the gap in Flora's arms. "Come on, Mickey. We're going home." Flora helped Mickey up and took him home with them. "Where do you think you're going, huh?" Mortimer yelled as Mickey went away. Mickey glared at Mortimer. "Leave me alone!" he shouted. He left with his mother and sister, but Mortimer wouldn't give in without a fight. "You don't run when I talk to you!" Mortimer yelled again. "YOU COME BACK HERE, RAT!!!" They were gone already. "Darn it!" Mortimer cursed. "He's dead at work when we come back on Monday!" He did not know that was so not going to happen. He just went home in anger as the sun began to set.
